Mad Science comes to you!
There is no need to rent buses, get waivers signed, or recruit parent volunteers!
A bit about our In-class Workshops:
Mad Science of Southern Alberta will enhance your science class with inquiry-based workshops that meet Provincial curriculum requirements. Structured as an in-class field trip, a Mad Science workshop is a very convenient way to offer students a hands-on science experience full of hands-on activities, spectacular demonstrations & inquiry-based discussions without leaving the school. With professional lesson plans, unique equipment and animated instructors (with background safety checks), Mad Science workshops offer preschool to sixth grade children truly engaging learning experiences that encourage the pursuit of STEM careers and we have dozens of workshop topics to choose from!
Our workshops are also perfect for Home School Groups, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Brownies, Sparks, Libraries, After-School Care Programs, Day Cares, Summer Camps and any where else that there are children.
All of our workshops for grades one - six are one hour long and are for a group of up to 30 children. One hour workshops start at $150 plus gst. We do extend discounts to multiple bookings of the same workshop made on the same day. To see a list of our workshops please click on the "Workshop Descriptions" tab above.
NOTE: WE ALSO HAVE PRESCHOOL & KINDERGARTEN WORKSHOPS. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION.
"Our instructor yesterday ( Labratory Luke) was amazing. We have always had incredible instructors - but he was truly a joy to watch. I am so impressed with your organization, customer service, quality programming and outstanding instructors." (Highwood school)
"Thank you for all the great visits this year (Simple Machines, Electricity and Chemistry). Yesterday, the Grade 5's were SO excited about every aspect of Potions Pam's presentation. Lots of excitement, giggles, and engaged learning. Every visit, with every scientist, was fabulous and left us with a memorable learning experience which we could apply to our Alberta science curriculum." (Ms. T. from the Glenmore Christian Academy).
"We have just wrapped up our session today...the kids loved it. They enjoyed the stations and then making the cars and racing them. Thanks for the program. Can't wait til next year!!! (Ms. W. from St. Joan of Arc on Mad Machines).
"I would just like to say thank you for coming to our event this week. Our Scientist, Microscope Mark, was absolutely fantastic! He did a great job teaching our very excited group all about Dry Ice; the youth loved all the experiments and how interactive the workshop was. We will definitely keep this program in mind for future events" (Families Matter Society)

Schools who host a Mad Science Club will create an opportunity to spark imaginative learning during the lunch break or after school when the bell rings!
Our programs provide a substantial focus on our natural environment, help children develop & use particular intellectual skills, include structured interaction among children where supervisors help children develop interpersonal skills & provide enrichment in the academic subject of science all in a fun, safe & professional environment. We do not rely and piggyback on other brand name products to create and promote our programs. All of our programs are highly researched and developed by a team of professionals at our head office in Montreal.
These programs are typically made up of 8 classes, scheduled over a 10 week period, each of which are one hour in length, hands-on and themed around a particular area of science with such topics as rocketry, magnets, polymers, weather, chemistry, space, detective science, the science of toys, the science of flight, electricity, structures, bugs, animals, life in the sea, movie effects, robotics and much much more.
Children engage in exciting hands-on activities, watch spectacular demonstrations, participate in inquiry-based discussions and take home things that they have made themselves like model rockets, catapults, anaglyph sea puzzles, hand-powered flashlights, cartoon creators, drag racers, yo-yos, sonic horns, technicolor blenders, secret code breakers, spynoculars, periscopes, Mad Science putty, atomic coins, cameras, robotic arms and so much more.
Like all of our programs, Mad Science Clubs 4 Schools offer children a chance to see just how cool science can be! To see a description of our 2014/2015 program, The Academy of Mad Science Explorers, please click on the "Science Clubs 4 Schools" tab above.
